(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Renewing government contracts and identification papers like the Emirates ID can be a cumbersome task, often involving people having to go long distances to find typing centres and government officers. The RTA has decided to make such things easy for Dubai residents, by leasing out empty spaces in Metro stations and, eventually bus stops, to business and legal administration centres.
As of now, there are two typing centres in two Metro stations on the Dubai Metro Green Line. On February 2, RTA opened a legal administration centre at Al Qusias Metro station. Fixit Express will enable commuters, residents and businesses within the vicinity to process all legal, business and government applications effortlessly. RTA officials added that the centres were opened for the sake of geographical convenience and as of now, leasing of spaces will be done as per availability.
The centre will offer business administrative services including processing all kind of legal/government applications such as Emirates ID, Dewa, Etisalat, e-Jari, Rera amongst others. In addition, it will also process visas and medical applications, will work as a mediator between selected consulates and facilitate setting up of businesses within the UAE.
Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Rail Agency, Road and Transport Authority told Khaleej Times: "We are working with more than one typing centre. The RTA is always looking for opportunities to improve and facilitate services it offers to the public. Fixit opening a centre at Al Qusais Metro will bring convenience to residents and businesses."
Jacob Philip, General Manager, Fixit Express said: "The footfalls in Metro stations are very high. We are testing waters in Al Qusais, also because there are several government departments, like the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labour, so it is a feasible locality for a centre like this."
Al Ali specified that the areas up for leasing are subject to availability. "We have not specified areas to our investors, although we are looking to expand our offerings. Unfortunately, most of our spaces are leased out to existing partners and are not available.
