Saudi- SABIC chief lauds emerging innovative spirit of youth

(MENAFN- Arab News) Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) chief executive office Mohamed Al-Mady said that the scientific inventions of Saudi youth are a source of pride for the country.

Al-Mady made his observation during a visit to the Saudi Science and Innovation Festival (SSIF) which was opened Tuesday by Deputy Minister of Education Hamad Al-Sheikh. SABIC which has its own pavilion is a sponsor of the event. SABIC is an organizing partner with the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) the Ministry of Education and Saudi Aramco.

'When our young people look forward to the emerging world of science and innovation it fills us with happiness and a sense of pride' he noted.

SABIC's participation in the six-day festival includes an interactive exhibition focusing on creativity and innovation in the company in addition to a "Science Convoy" which will make its first stop in Riyadh.

It will feature interactive activities workshops and entertaining scientific experiments catering to youth in several fields including chemistry mathematics space studies and innovation.

It also allows children to do interactive activities by exposing them to science and innovation which would eventually hone their ideas by sowing seeds of creativity innovation and excellence at an early age.

The first day witnessed a large participation of female students from both government and private schools.

Saudi Aramco also has a major presence in scientific and interactive programs designed to engage students of different grade levels in a variety of scientific experiments combining interest and pleasure.

Its pavilion provides models of initiatives in the fields of science innovation and support inventions represented in the Saudi Aramco initiative programs to enrich young people in entrepreneurship through an interactive program designed specifically for the festival.
