Yum Brands logs losses in Q4 on China scandal

(MENAFN) US fast-food giant Yum Brands reported a swing into a fourth-quarter loss on a longer-than-expected recovery from a tainted meat scandal in China, AFP reported.

The parent of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurant chains said it had a net loss of USD36 million in the October-December quarter compared with a net income of USD321 million a year ago.

"While the sales recovery in China continues to be slower than expected, we anticipate a strong second half of 2015 as the turnaround gains momentum, led by menu innovation across the year," Yum's chief executive said.
