LPG cylinder to cost 25 per cent less in Ras Al Khaimah

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders has come down by 25 per cent due to the worldwide drop in oil prices, a senior official has said.

A small-size cylinder now costs Dh55 instead of Dh65, while medium-size cylinder costs Dh100 instead of Dh140. A large-size cylinder can be filled for Dh190 instead of Dh140.

Ahmed Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director of the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development, said: "In collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, the department spares no effort to inform customers about the latest prices for LPG cylinders.

"Consumers have to check the weight and validity of LPG cylinders for their own safety."

The RAK Department of Economic Development is the official body concerned with monitoring the prices set by the Ministry of Economy in coordination with LPG companies and retailers, Al Tunaiji noted.

"Consumers are also urged to keep the receipt after replacing their LPG cylinders and report any manipulation in prices, weight or validity to the Consumer Protection Section via toll free number 8007333," he said.
