Blood of martyred pilot Muath will not go in vain: King


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army, returned home Wednesday, to the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army, where he was received by His Majesty's Advisor for Military Affairs, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mashal Mohammad Al Zabin, and senior army officers.

King Abdullah met with the Joint Chiefs of Staff for a period of time and discussed matters of concern to the armed forces.

During a meeting at the General Command with senior civilian and military officials, King Abdullah said, "the blood of the martyred hero, pilot Muath Al Kasasbeh, will not go in vain, and Jordan and its Arab Army's response to what its son had suffered in the criminal and cowardly act, will be harsh, because this terrorist organization is not only fighting us, but fighting the true Islam and its values." His Majesty stressed, "We are fighting this war to protect our faith, our values and humanitarian principles, and our fight for these values will be relentless, we will be on the lookout for the criminals and hit them in their own homes." The King expressed great pride in the intensive efforts made by the Jordanian government, the armed forces and security agencies to save the martyr Al Kasasbeh, which lasted from the first moment of the plane crash, until the announcement of his death yesterday.

His Majesty said he had high confidence in the institutions of the Jordanian state and its military, security and media, and the level of coordination between them, their ability to protect the nation and its gains, and defend it in different circumstances.

The King also expressed his pride in the sons and daughters of the unified Jordan family in this circumstance, for standing united in the face of dangers and terrorist threats, and their determination to move ahead with their country's march.

His Majesty valued the international community's supportive stance for Jordan in dealing with this threat, and its role in the war against terrorism, which is the war of the Arab and Muslim world.

The meeting was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, Prime Minister, Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court, the King's Advisor for Military Affairs, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the King's Advisor for National Security Affairs, the General Intelligence Director, and the Director of the King's Office, the King's Advisor and Rapporteur of the National Policy Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications, the Director of the Public Security Department and the Director of the Gendarmerie Department.
