The 2014 “Impact a Life” college scholarship winners were announced on January 21 2015 by raffleticket.com president Bruce Hassel.
Maddy Cook a freshman student at Oregon State University submitted the winning essay. The award of $1000 is granted in order to help defray the expenses associated with the rising cost of college education.
Maddy is majoring in Renewable Materials with a minor in Marketing and Management with hopes of one day becoming a forestry operations manager. “I am a first-generation college student so this scholarship means the world to me and my family” Maddy expressed. “Thank you raffleticket.com for making this scholarship possible!”
A second place scholarship award in the amount of $600 was granted to James McKenna a communications major at Florida State College Jacksonville.
A third place scholarship award in the amount of $400 was presented to Farleigh Dickinson University biochemistry major Isabelle Nemeh.
“The “Impact a Life” $1000 cash scholarship was established to challenge the future leaders of America to provide creative solutions and ideas to serve their community church and service organizations through charitable acts of volunteerism. I think this years winners certainly exemplify those qualities” said Hassel.
