Japan PM Condemns Purported Killing of Jordanian Pilot

(MENAFN- QNA) Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has called the apparent killing of a Jordanian military pilot by the IS militant group an unforgivable act of violence.

Abe issued a statement on Wednesday after the release of images online purporting to show the killing of Moaz Kasasbeh. Abe said he is outraged. He said he cannot find the words to describe the suffering Kasasbeh's family must feel.

He offered his condolences on behalf of the Japanese government and people. He said Japan stands in solidarity with the Jordanian government and people at this difficult time.

Abe said he is extremely angry, describing the killing as a despicable and atrocious act of terrorism. Abe also said in the statement that people must never bow to terrorism. He said Japan will expand its humanitarian assistance in cooperation with the international community.  He said Tokyo is resolved to carry out its responsibility in the global fight against terrorism.
