LVMH logs record sales, net profit in 2014

(MENAFN) LVMH announced posting record sales and net profit, although other figures released by the leading global luxury company missed expectations, AFP reported.

The maker of Louis Vuitton handbags and Moet & Chandon champagne said its sales surged 6 percent in 2014 to a record of USD35.1 billion, while net profit came to a record of USD6.42 billion.

However, operating profit of the France-based LVMG, which also include Givenchy and Guerlain in its stable of luxury brands, dropped 5 percent, hitting USD6.48 billion.

While the sales slightly beat the expectations, the operating profit was below forecasts of USD6.64 billion and a net profit of USD3.86 billion stripping out the effect of the Hermes operating.
