Worldwide condemnations on Jordanian pilot's murder by ISIL

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Arab and Western countries and organizations reacted angrily at the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant's (ISIL) dispecable burning of Jordanian pilot Moath Al-Kasasbah alive.

Following the ISIL's posting of the burning video, the Jordanian armed forces confirmed that Kasasbah, whose F-16 et crashed in the Syrian city of Ar-Raqqah while on a mission over northern Syria some 40 days ago, was killed on January 3.

Jordanian King Abdullah said he was sad and angry when learning of ISIL's murder of Al-Kasasbah.

Addressing the nation, King Abdullah said he received the news with "sorrow and anger." He said this "cowardly" act was committed by a criminal group which has no relation whatsoever to Islam.

King Abdullah said Kasasbah was defending his country and Arab nation.

"The blood of martyr kasasbah will not go in vain," Colonel Mamduh Al-Ameri, amred forces spokesman, said in a statement aired by Jordanian TV.

Minister of State for Information Affairs and government spokesman Mohammad Al-Momani condemned the killing of Kasasbah.

He said intelligence asserted the pilot was killed a month ago and that ISIL demands to swap him for Sajida Al-Rishawi, an Iraqi female on death-row in Jordan, were simply "stalling." The Jordanian government, part of the US-led international coalition fighting ISIL in Iraq and Syria, said last week it was ready to release Al-Rishawi but wanted guarantees that Kasasbah was alive.

Condemnations poured into jordan soon after the news of Kasasbah's murder.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah strongly condemned so-called ISIL's murder of Kasasbah, saying this "terrorist and dispecable" act was irrelevant to religions and traditions.

In a cable to Jordanian King Abdullah II, His Highness the Amir expressed Kuwait's "strong condemnation of this criminal act carried out by so-called Islamic State when it executed Jodanian pilot Moath Al-Kasasbah, and the vicious way he was executed with." His Highness the Amir underlined this "terrorist and dispecable" act was irrelevant to all faiths and traditions.

He reaffirmed Kuwait's rejection to all forms of terrorism and was joining hands with the international community to eliminate it.

His Highness the Amir extended deepest condolences for King Abdullah II, the Jordanian people and Kasasbah's family.

His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar cables.

Parliament Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim strongly condemned the murder of the Jordanian pilot.

Al-Ghanim, in cables of condolences to President of the Jordanian House of Senate Abdulraouf Al-Rawabdah and Parliament Speaker Atef Al-Tarawnah, strongly condemned the "vicious" crime committed by ISIL against Kasasbah.

Al-Ghanim reiterated full solidarity with the Jordanian people.

"We support all Jordanian steps to dealing with consequences of this crime ...," he said.
