(MENAFN- QNA) Head of Qatar's Mission to the European Union HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani today hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of Helga Schmid, Deputy Secretary-General European External Action Service at the European Union. The function was attended by GCC states ambassadors accredited to Brussels.
In a speech on the occasion, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Ali Al-Thani praised the existing relations between the State of Qatar and the European Union describing them as ''distinguished. He stressed the Qatari officials intentions to promote them to achieve the interests of both sides.
He added that the world in now in need more than any time before to coordinate efforts, unify visions and reach common solutions to many major political, economic, developmental and social challenges, specially trans-border security challenges and hazards.
