UN General Assembly holds special session to offer condolences on death of late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) The United Nations General Assembly held a special session yesterday to offer condolences on the death of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud with the participation of the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mo€„¢allemi, and representatives of various countries and groups at the United Nations.

In their speeches, the representatives of groups of states at the United Nations offered their condolences to the Kingdom's leadership and people on the death of late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, stressing their commitment to cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

They reviewed the merits of the late King in the service of his country, the global security, the dialogue between the followers of religions and cultures, his role in promoting peace in the Middle East and standing against the wave of violence and terrorism, and his role in the development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

They expressed their sincere wishes for further development and progress of the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
