Jordan- Candlelight vigil held for slain Japanese hostages

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Jordanians held a candlelight vigil near the Japanese embassy in Amman to show solidarity with the Japanese people over the killing of two Japanese nationals at hands of the terrorist Daash group in Syria.

The participants held placards denouncing terrorism and extremism and calling for moderation. They also carried pictures of Jordanian pilot, Muath Kasasbeh, who is being held captive by Daash after his plane went down over Syria's restive Raqqa province. Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yasuhide Nakayama, thanked the Jordanian people for their feelings and sympathy and said the gathering reflected the long-lasting ties between Jordan and Japan. He voiced hope for a safe return of the captive Jordanian pilot.
