Qatar- Hunting championship from tomorrow


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The fourth edition of the Al Galayel Championship for Traditional Hunting kicks off tomorrow at Al Areeq Reserve, south of Qatar.

The first group of competitors comprising four teams will arrive at the reserve today to select a suitable location for them, the organising committee of the month-long Championship announced yesterday.

The four teams will prepare the area and check all the requirements available for them to stay and practice hunting in the area during the period of the competition.

The first group includes Al Sadd team and first time participating teams Al Asifa, Al Sailiyya and Marmi, expected to pose a challenge to the traditionally dominating teams in the competition.

The groupings were identified through a draw which took place in the presence of the team leaders and participants.

The second group which comprises Brooq, Al Adeed, Dukhan, and Lusail will come to the Reserve on February 9.
