Five dead, over 100 injured in heavy storm in Turkey


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Heavy storm across Turkey has caused death of five people in different parts of the country, authorities said on Monday.

Three people were killed, 110 others injured, over 300 rooftops and 100 cars were damaged in Bursa, the authorities said in official statements.

In Balikesir province, a man was trying to repair metal roof of his barn when he fell down, and the roof then fell on top of him, causing his death.

Meanwhile, Turkish Airlines announced that it had cancelled 65 domestic flights and 59 international flights due to the bad weather conditions.

Domestic and international flights as well sea transportation were cancelled due to strong winds.

Sea bus services, fast ferry and car ferry services were cancelled due to the weather conditions in Istanbul.
