(MENAFN) Data showed that South Korea's exports dropped in December, dragging down prices of oil-related products, leading to a fall in oil product exports, Xinhua reported.
In January, the world's third-largest economy's exports, which account for about half of the economy, edged down 0.4 percent to USD45.37 billion, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said.
The drop came as low global crude oil prices pulled down exports in oil-related goods. In terms of value, shipments of oil and petrochemical products went up 13.2 percent and 4.2 percent each.
Exports to the EU and Japan declined 23 and 19.2 percent, respectively, while those to the US and China, South Korea's top trading partners, surged 15.2 and 5.3 percent each.
