Bahrain revokes citizenship of 72 people


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Bahraini government has revoked the nationality of 72 people over failing in their allegiance duties towards the kingdom and harming its interests.

The fresh decree is part of measures taken by the Interior Ministry to protect the security and stability of Bahrain and fight terrorism and terrorist threats, the government said in a statement carried by Bahrain's official news agency (BNA).

The decree issued to revoke the nationality of 72 people came as some citizens committed acts against the Kingdom's interests and behaved in a way that ran counter to their allegiance duties, it added.
