11 people die of gas suffocation in Balochistan

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) According to Levies official Asmatullah all the victims were members of the same family and had left the gas generator turned on before going to bed.

Eleven people including children and women died of suffocation in a house in the Kalli Karbala area of Balochistan’s Pishin district on Thursday.

According to Levies official Asmatullah all the victims were members of the same family and had left the gas generator turned on before going to bed.

Another senior local administration official Bashir Ahmad Bazai said: “These people were asleep in the same room and inhaled poisonous gases emitted by an electricity generator installed outside their room.”

The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Pishin for postmortem.

Frequent power outages in the area force people to use gas generators to ensure they have electricity and are able to perform day-to-day functions.
