Qatar's Qafac to launch CO2 capture facilities


(MENAFN) Qatar Fuel Additives Company Ltd (Qafac) announced that it has made all the preparations for the launch of one of the world's largest commercial-scale carbon dioxide (CO2) capture facilities, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

The company said that the state-of-the-art plant has the capacity to recover and reprocess 500 tons of carbon dioxide per day, adding that the facility will capture CO2 from combustion exhaust gas released from the methanol reformer process, and inject it into its existing methanol plant to enhance the production capacity, resulting in it reprocessing the equivalent of CO2 emitted from 32.000 cars a year
