Ooredoo Oman net profit falls 17 percent in Q4


(MENAFN) Ooredoo Oman (Nawras), the sultanate's second biggest telecommunications operator, said that it has recorded a decline by 17 percent in its net profit during the October-December period of 2014, with its profit accumulating to USD21.6 million compared with USD25.88 million in the same period in 2013, Gulf Business reported.

The firm, majority-owned by Qatar's Ooredoo, added that despite the decline in profits, its revenue increased to reach USD156.08 million during the cited period, which is compared with USD136.61 million registered in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, the company, which ended Oman Telecommunication Co's (Omantel) monopoly in 2005, said that its annual profit has amounted to USD98.10 million in 2014, an increase compared with USD85.77 million in 2013.
