Lebanese Parliament fails again to elect new Pres.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Secretary General of Lebanese Parliament Adnan Daher announced that the parliament failed for the 18th time in a row to elect a new president of the republic to replace the outgoing President Michel Sleiman.

In a press statement on Wednesday, Daher said that due to lack of quorum Speaker of the House of Representatives Nabih Berri adjourned the presidential election session until February 18.

Two thirds of the 128 MPs are required for a parliament session to elect a new head of state.
