(MENAFN) The Qatari Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) said that the country's trade balance of goods registered a surplus to reach USD6.22 billion in December, declining by 32.8 percent compared to the same month in the previous year, The Peninsula Qatar reported.
The Ministry added that the total exports of goods decreased 21.7 percent in December 2014, compared to the same month in 2013, which is attributed to lower exports of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons, which declined 17.7 percent compared to December 2013.
Meanwhile the imports of goods increased by 18.3 percent in comparison with December of 2013, as well as recording an increased by 10 percent compared with November 2014.
In December 2014, Japan topped the list of the countries of destination of Qatar's exports with a share of 25.6 percent of total exports, followed by South Korea with and India with QR4.4bn, while in terms of imports, the US was the leading country of origin the imports, having a share of 11.3 percent of the imports, followed by China and Germany.
