Hong Kong's exports, imports up in December


(MENAFN) According to the Census and Statistics Department, the value of Hong Kong's total exports and imports of goods surged in December by 0.6 and 1.9 percent, respectively, Xinhua reported.

The department said that the value of total exports of goods increased by 0.6 percent to USD40.36 billion, following an increase of mere 0.4 percent registered in November of 2014.

Meanwhile, the value of re-exports increased by 0.8 percent to USD39.81 billion in the final month of 2014, whereas the value of domestic exports dropped 11.9 percent to USD528.85 million.

For the full year of 2014, the value of total exports of goods surged by 3.2 percent compared to 2013, out of which re-exports increased 3.2 percent, while the value of domestic exports went up 1.7 percent.
