He was apprehended by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) from a house in south-east Bangalore. The search and arrest of Bordoloi took place on the basis of a look-out notice issued by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for an attack at the Santipur Village at Sonitpur in Assam. According to police sources the NFB militant came to Bangalore on January 21st and managed to procure a cell phone and an unverified SIM card issued by a private mobile service providers in the name of Sanju Boroloi. However following the December killings he fled from Assam on January 19th and reached Bangalore on Jan 21 to evade arrest. "The Assam police and NIA will be landing in Bangalore to take him into their custody. We are waiting for Assam police to collect more information about the accused person," MN Reddi said.
