Vodafone to sponsor Offshore Powerboat Qatar Cup in Doha


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Vodafone Qatar will be the Communications Partner for the highly anticipated Offshore Powerboat Qatar Cup, it was announced here yesterday.

The Qatar Marine Sports Federation (QMSF) and the recently-formed Offshore Powerboat Grand Prix (OPGP) will jointly promote and run the brand new UIM Qatar Cup, a four-day powerboat racing festival, in Doha Bay , Corniche to Pearl from February 4 to 7.

The Cup, set to be the biggest offshore powerboating championship in the world, will comprise of 50 boats spread over six racing categories, ranging from the big 45 foot long Super Vee boats all the way down to the pro class category, in addition to 30 jetskis.

Boats are being shipped to Doha from the USA, UAE, New Zealand, Kuwait and Turkey.

Ali Ali Al Naema and Mohammed Nassr Al Nassr, twoof the biggest names in Qatari Offshore powerboat racing will also be seen in action.
