CAAV, Boeing sign deal to support Vietnam's aviation

(MENAFN) The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) and Boeing signed a memorandum of collaboration to support Vietnam achieving the required regulations for direct flights to the US, Xinhua reported.

Under the agreement, Boeing will help Vietnam achieve Category 1 approved by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to allow Vietnam's commercial airlines to offer direct passenger and cargo flights.

Boeing will also support the CAAV in completing the Corrective Action Plan and assist in training for CAAV personnel. The CAAV seeks completing the Category 1 by the fourth quarter of the current year.

"The country national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and other air carriers are looking forward to the achievement of Category 1," head of CAAV said addressing the signing ceremony.
