Qatar- Nearly 200,000 visited Leshta Festival
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) A total of 188, 421 visitors have attended the second edition of the annual Leshta (Winter) Festival which concluded yesterday at Katara Esplanade.
The total number of visitors during the five-day festival was up by more than 60,000 compared to its first edition.
Katara General Manager Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, said that the festival, on its second consecutive year, once again achieved a great success, adding Katara has always been keen to diversify its activities to attract different audiences.
He said the festival has provided useful information and spread awareness among children in an entertaining and amusing way and that Katara looks forward for further development in the coming years.
Abdulrahman bin Jassin Al Tamimi, Chairman of the festival organising committee, said: "We are pleased with the huge turnout throughout the festival. We hope to see the participation of more institutions and centers in the state, especially those that deal with children."
The centres and institutions that took part in the five-day festival included the Childhood Cultural Centre, Doha Youth Centre, Qatar Heritage and Identity Centre, Al Gannas Association, Al Ghalayel Championship, Katara Cultural Market and Bin Muftah Medical Polyclinic and Al Adam Harley Group in addition to traditional bands.
