Danish Egro to invest USD.24b in East Azerbaijan


(MENAFN) Denmark-based Egro Company announced plans to invest a total of USD2.24 billion in the field of agriculture in the city of Hashtroud, East Azerbaijan province, Iran Daily reported.

Negotiations are being currently held with officials of the city for the development of modern industrial agriculture, a Danish expert on potential investment field in Iran said.

With the implementation of industrial agriculture, the traditional system in the region will be industrialized and the region will launch a pilot agricultural plan, the Danish expert added.

The next project for the firm's investment in Hashtroud relates to establishment of a wind power plant in the city. As per the plan, no chemicals will be used and agriculture will be implemented organically.
