Qatar's QEWC net profit up 9.3 percent in Q4


(MENAFN) Qatar Electricity and Water Co (QEWC), the Gulf state's monopoly utility firm, said that it has recorded a 9.3 percent increase in its net profit during the October-December period of 2014, Gulf Business reported.

During the fourth quarter of 2014, the state-run utility registered a net profit of USD99 million, compared with USD90.56 million posted in the corresponding period of the previous year.

QEWC also said that it has recorded USD420 million in profits in 2014, an 11 percent increase compared with the profits it made in 2013.
