Kuwaiti oil exports to China up 52.7 percent in December


(MENAFN) The Kuwaiti General Administration of Customs said that the country's crude oil exports to China registered an increase by 52.7 percent in December compared to the same month in 2013, to reach 1.73 million tons, , equivalent to around 408,000 barrels per day (bpd), thus recording the highest amount in any month in 2014, KUNA reported.

During the full year of 2014, Kuwait's exports to China totaled 10.62 million tons, equivalent of 213.000 bpd, which is an increase by 13.7 percent as compared with 2013's figures, as a result of China's overall imports of oil growing by 13.4 percent to reach a record high of 7.18 million bpd in December alone.

Saudi Arabia remained China's top supplier with its shipments rising 8.6 percent to 1.07 million bpd from a year earlier, followed by Angola with 911.000 bpd, down 4.4 percent, then Russia due to a 85.9 percent increase in its shipments and then these countries where followed by Oman, which ranked fourth, and Iraq fifth, respectively.
