(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Acting Information Undersecretary Faisal Al-Mutlaqqem Saturday praised great achievements of Saudi Arabia during the reign of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, among which boosting role of media institutions and revolutionize media in general.
Saudi Arabia had, during the late King Abdullah's rule, witnessed a great media openness as well as a growing number of mass communication graduates, Al-Mutlaqqem said in a statement to KUNA.
He said the deceased realized the important role of media in development, while the country witnessed an increase in TV channels, specialized magazines and newspapers, and e-papers.
Al-Mutlaqqem said women were also active in media either in newspapers, radio and TV as well as working as university professors.
