EU Calls on Russia to Take Responsibility in Ukraine


(MENAFN- QNA) The European Union called on Russia to "fully assume its responsibility" in upholding the Minsk ceasefire agreement from September.

Citing the killing of eight civilians at a bus stop in Donetsk, the spokeswoman for EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said that "distorting the reality on the ground" and "inciting hatred" will not lead to de-escalation, dpa reported.

The spokeswoman, Maja Kocijancic, also called for international humanitarian law regarding treatment of prisoners to be upheld.

"The public parading of prisoners in Donetsk yesterday Thursday clearly violated such standards," she said
