Witter Financial Group Pledges Financial Assistance to the Philippines Relief Effort

Firm to donate $1 million and match employee contributions up to $250000
Witter Financial Group announced today that it is pledging $1 million to relief efforts taking place in the Philippines following the devastation caused by Typhoons. The donation will help provide food supplies and home-repair kits for 80000 families in the provinces of Samar Leyte and Cebu. The firm will also match employee contributions dollar-for-dollar up to an additional $250000.
“On behalf of our employees across the region and around the world our thoughts are with those in the Philippines reeling from the tragic consequences of this storm and who must now start to rebuild their lives” said Shien G. Wan chairman and chief executive officer of Witter Financial Group. “We have had a presence in the Philippines for more than 50 years and in times like this it is essential for us to contribute in as many ways as we can.”
“The damage created by this storm is hard to comprehend” said Robert Yee Senior Country Officer for Witter Financial Group Philippines. “In addition to financial support being provided by our company our local employees are volunteering to help with the relief efforts on the ground even as they help their own friends and families impacted by the disaster.
