Kuwaiti plane, laden with humanitarian aid, arrives in Beirut

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A Kuwaiti military plane carrying humanitarian and relief aid for Syrian refugees arrived in the Lebanese capital Thursday.

The aid contains 30 tons of dates, clothes, blankets, and cleaning products, Kuwait Red Crescent Society's (KRCS) envoy in Lebanon Dr. Musaed Al-Enezi told KUNA, noting that it is part of a support program by the Kuwaiti people to help Syrian refugees in Lebanon, in coordination with KRCS.

The relief aid items would be distributed by the Kuwaiti aid team, in coordination with Lebanese Red Cross, to refugees who suffered freezing temperatures and blizzards that hit Lebanon recently, Al-Enezi added.

He also confirmed that the Kuwaiti aid comes under directions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti political leadership to meet needs of Syrian refugees in Lebanon as much as possible and to alleviate their suffering after the majority of them was victimized by recent stormy and freezing weather in the country.
