Oman to increase oil production in 2015

(MENAFN) Oman Oil Ministry said that the sultanate is expected to raise its crude oil production by about 20.000 barrels per day in 2015, Gulf Business reported.

Oman, which has been pumping around 950.000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude, said that the global plunge in oil prices will not affect its upstream strategy, adding that there is no change in its 2015 energy plans

The Ministry also said that Oman is planning to privatize its downstream industries, perhaps by end-2016, as well as considering selling off part of oil refiner Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Co (ORPIC).
