Stefani, Pharrell to perform after handball games

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Qatar 2015 Organising Committee has confirmed that international superstar Gwen Stefani will perform at Lusail Multipurpose Hall this Saturday after matches of the 24th Men's Handball World Championship.

Stefani will join popular Iraqi singer Kadim Al Sahir, leading Qatari singer Fahad Al Kubaisi and platinum-selling artist Pharrell Williams as part of the line-up of superstar entertainment for Qatar 2015.

The performance will take place after the last scheduled match of the evening (Denmark vs Poland, which begins at 9pm). The concert is exclusively for ticket holders.

Stefani, an award-winning artist who rose to fame in the mid-90s as the lead singer of No Doubt, launched a successful solo career in 2004 with her first solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. She followed it with another solo album - The Sweet Escape in 2006 - before returning to recording with No Doubt. Stefani's third solo album is due for release in 2015.

Dubbed by Rolling Stone magazine as "the only true female rock star left on radio or MTV" in 2005, Stefani has made an indelible mark on rock music, winning one Grammy Award, four MTV Video Music Awards and one American Music Award. She is credited with hits such as Don't Speak, Spiderwebs, Just a Girl, Hollaback Girl, What You Waiting For, Rich Girl and Cool.
