His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces on Sunday received President Abdul Fattah Al Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt who is on an official visit to the UAE.
Upon his arrival at Al Mushrif Palace Sisi accompanied by Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid was accorded an official reception where the national anthems of the two countries were played and a 21-gun salute was fired in honour of the guest.
Following the ceremony Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid accompanied the Egyptian President to the main hall of the palace where he was welcomed by Shaikhs ministers and senior civilian and military officials.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid and General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed held a discussion with the Egyptian President. During the meeting they welcomed Sisi and his accompanying delegation and expressed their pleasure about the visit wishing that it would contribute towards enhancing fraternal and historic relations between the UAE and Egypt.
The Vice-President and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi drew attention to the fact that the UAE led by the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is keen on boosting ties and the existing bilateral cooperation in line with the strategic interests of the two fraternal countries and peoples.
They also said that the UAE’s supportive stance towards Egypt and its people is historic and based on legacy of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who had realised Egypt’s pivotal and important regional and international role as well as its role to act as a safety valve for the region’s stability and security.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid and General Shaikh Mohammed expressed their full confidence in the ability of the Egyptian people and its leadership to face all challenges and go steadily towards success to achieve security stability and progress and underscore Egypt’s role in the region’s stability.
The two sides also tackled the fraternal cooperation ties issues of mutual interest and the latest developments in the regional and international arenas as well as the distinguished relations between the two countries especially in the political economic and developmental domains.
On his part the Egyptian President extended thanks and appreciation to the UAE’s leadership and people for their historic stance towards the Egyptian people praising its efforts and initiatives to support Egypt in the political and economic fields as well as its continuous support to the aspirations of Egyptians.
The Egyptian President praised the interest and enthusiasm of Shaikh Khalifa in supporting a number of basic sectors especially in the economic social and developmental domains.
During the meeting they discussed the latest developments regionally and internationally and exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest.
At the conclusion of the meeting they affirmed the importance of these meetings which discuss the strategic ties between both countries as well as ways to enhance them in the best service of their mutual interests pointing out that such meetings represent renewable opportunities to exchange views on bilateral regional and global relations.
Additionally the two sides again stated that the two countries enjoy distinguished and exceptional relations which are backed by both countries’ leaderships’ commitment to make them a model which are based on mutual respect and confidence as well as mutual keenness on the two sides and region’s interests.
They also reiterated the two sides’ determination to reach further achievements which will be added to the historic ties between the two countries adding that the meeting represents a new step in the outstanding bilateral relations for the benefit of the two fraternal peoples especially in light of the latest developments faced by the region and the importance of setting up principles of joint work in all fields to address political economic and security challenges stressing that the two countries’ security is jointly shared.
They also said they hoped that the concerted international efforts would accelerate to face all challenges that affect international peace and security especially in regards to the spread of violence extremism and terrorism stressing that these efforts should bolster coexistence among peoples and support international legitimacy to achieve stability and security that contributes to creating the appropriate atmosphere to push forward development across the world as well as facing conflicts and unrest in the region to achieve progress and prosperity.
Also Egypt’s President attended a luncheon in his honour along with his accompanying delegation.
