Qatar- Karwa Driving School Awarded QP Contract /Local Press/


(MENAFN- QNA) Karwa Driving School (KDS) will be the health, safety and environment (HSE) training provider for the emergency response vehicle driver and defensive driving training of Qatar Petroleum (QP) for the next three years, Mowasalat company announced in a press release.

"QP awarded the contract to the driving school upon compliance with the strict requirements and high standard set by QP in providing such a specialized driver training to company drivers and staff," Mowasalat CEO Khalid Nasser Al Hail said.

"We understand the very high standard set by QP which is parallel to our training international accreditation strategy and objectives. Having won the contract manifests KDS and QP's commitment for road safety," he added.

KDS was the first ISO 9001-2008 certified driving school in Qatar in 2009 and accredited by well-known driver training institutes both from Europe and the United States such as City and Guilds, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), Smith System, Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).

In 2012, KDS received the Defensive Driving Course Trend Setter Award given by National Safety Council (NSC) of United States. For this year, it received the authority given by International Road Transport Union (IRU) as accredited Training Institute to deliver driving courses for trucks and buses having met the requirements imposed by United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) consolidated resolution on road traffic.
