Trade deficit edges up


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The Kingdom's trade deficit edged up by 4.1 percent at current prices to around JD9.45 billion at the end of November of 2014 from JD9.084 billion at the end of the same month of 2013.

The rise was driven by higher cost of machinery and petrol imports, according to the Department of Statistics bulletin on foreign trade. National exports totaled JD5.41 billion in the same period up by 4.6 compared with 2013. Exports total coverage of imported goods slightly increased to about 36.4 per cent from 36.3 percent, the data revealed.
