Tech stocks pull Wall St. up for modest gains

(MENAFN- AFP) US stocks finished with modest gains Tuesday helped by firm buying in tech stocks, after a day spent mostly well in the red.

At the close of trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 17,516.07, up 4.50 points (0.03 percent) from Friday. Markets were closed Monday for a holiday.

The broad-based S&P 500 added 3.11 (0.15 percent) at 2,022.53, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite gained 20.46 (0.44 percent) at 4,654.85.
