(MENAFN) BMW Group in the Middle East said that Oman was its second biggest growth market for the company in 2014, as the car sales in the sultanate registered a 38 percent increase, Times of Oman reported.
BMW's Oman retailer, Al Jenaibi International Automobiles, said that as a result of the increase in sales, the company has decided to expand its facilities to include a best-in-class new showroom and after-sales facility for further improvements to customer service and the overall purchase experience.
Among the car models, the BMW 5 Series, the global leader in the executive saloon segment, was the best-selling BMW model, followed by the BMW X5 Sports Activity Coup" and flagship 7 Series, with the three models together accounting for 60 per cent of the importer's total sales, while the Mini brand registered an increase of 8 percent in its sales compared with 2013.
"The year 2014 was an important year for us. It was a record-breaker in terms of growth. We were the second fastest growing market in the entire Middle East. This is down to many factors, but put simply a desirable and innovative product portfolio, ongoing investment into the brands and an unwavering focus on excellent customer service. We look forward to another strong performance in 2015," managing director of of Al Jenaibi International Automobiles said.
