China's real estate investment slows in 2014


(MENAFN) Official data showed that China's real estate investment continued to grow in 2014 but at a slower pace than a year ago, marking increasing pressure on the overheated sector, Xinhua reported.

Data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that the country's real estate investment surged by 10.5 percent over the same period a year ago, reaching USD1.55 trillion in 2014.

Investment in residential buildings, accounting for 67.7 percent of total investment in the real estate sector, increased 9.2 percent from a year ago in last year, the data showed.

Manu other major investment indicators also declined last year. Property developers purchased 14 percent less land than, while construction dropped by 10.7 percent from the year-ago period.
