Lebanese Soldier Injured in Fire Exchange in Baalbek


(MENAFN- QNA) A Lebanese army soldier was injured during an exchange of fire with wanted people in Baalbek, eastern Lebanon, the official news agency reported.

National News Agency (NNA) said the army stormed a house in Baalbek to capture four persons who were on the wanted list of the judiciary. An exchange of fire took place which injured one of the soldiers, it added.

The four persons were arrested. They are accused of kidnapping.

Lebanese Interior Minister Nuhad Al-Mashnouq, in a TV interview last week, announced a security plan aimed at cracking down on wanted persons in Baalbek and Northern Bekaa, the two areas that witnessed abduction incidents and car theft.
