(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) It was an unprecedented opportunity for some students of Indian School Al Seeb (ISAS) to be a part of a ten-day educational trip to North #India during the winter break.

A group of 26 students undertook this tour accompanied by their teachers Binu Johny and Shashi Tandon. The tour not only aimed at entertaining and educating the students on the cultural diversity and heritage of #India but also focused on enlightening them with the latest aspects of science and technology.

This unique venture taken up for the first time by the school was highly appreciated by the parents.

The students began with Uttar Pradesh and first visited Mathura (birth place of Lord Krishna). They were fortunate to see 'the jewel of Muslim art in India' The Taj Mahal which is truly one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage. They were particularly impressed and emotionally moved to see the historical monument Jallianwal Bagh.

The moment they reached Jallianwala Bagh the tragic event of April 13 1919 which has left a painful scar in the heart of every Indian made their hearts heavy  and they bowed down in reverence for the martyrs.

They were in awe when they saw the beautiful Golden Temple at Amritsar. They were fortunate to see the lowering of the flag or beating the retreat ceremony at Wagah Border and later 'Rangla Punjab Haveli' (an artificial miniature of Punjab) in Jalandhar.

The entire tour took a scientific bend when the children visited the Pushpa Gujral science city. They witnessed a breath-taking 3D show laser show and space theatre model along with many other live examples of science for humanity.

At Chandigarh they saw the famous sculptures in Rock Garden and the Rose Garden. The prestigious Red Fort #India Gate Rashtrapati Bhavan Jama Masjid Indira Gandhi Memorial and the famous Qutub Minar in Delhi left them mesmerised.
