Furore Over Invitation To Egyptian Cleric


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Director of the General Administration for Private Education Abdullah Al-Basiri said the Ministry of Education has launched a 'war on fake certificates' and referred 300 Kuwaitis to the Public Prosecution for holding fake high school certificates from Saudi Arabia.

Al-Basiri said the forgery came to light when the suspects applied for accreditation of their high school certificates and after checking the authenticity of these certificates it became clear that they were forged. He stressed the Saudi Embassy in Kuwait is fully coordinating with the Kuwait educational authorities in this respect through its cultural attachÈ to find a mechanism to identify those fake certificates.

Call to deport cleric: The invitation to the Egyptian preacher Mohammed Hussein Yaqoub to give lectures during the Hala February Festival has met angry reaction from the Parliament amid demands to deport this radical personality in order to safeguard national unity, reports Annahar daily.
