Dubai firm to work on USD1b Africa's tallest tower


(MENAFN) Middle East Development, the Dubai construction company, announced that it will begin working on the USD1 billion project in Morocco, which is set to become Africa's tallest tower, in June, Arabian Business reported.

The Al Noor Tower in Casablanca, Morocco, is expected to reach 540 meter in height, twice the height of the continent's current tallest building, Johannesburg's Carlton Tower which stands at 233 meter.

The tower, which Valode and Pistre, the multinational architecture is handling its design, will have a total floor space of 335.000 square meters and include a hotel with 200 rooms, a spa and business center, with the project set for completion in 2018.
