Kuwait- KFAED renovates castle in S. Lebanon

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait Fund for Arabic Economic Development (KFAED) opened Sunday the newly renovated Beaufort Castle, Qala'at Al-Shaqif in Arabic, in southern Lebanon.

KFAED's Director General Abdulwahab Al-Bader told the press that the castle was renovated by the fund using the grant given to Lebanon 2006.

The KFAED is keen on preserving Lebanon's historical heritage and renovating the castle as part of the fund's belief in the importance of history and culture.

The Beaufort Castle sustained heavy damage during the 2006 Israeli
aggression against Lebanon.

KFAED has signed with Lebanon 22 loan agreements worth KD 211 million. The fund also provided eight grants worth KD 3.5 million to fund projects in Lebanon in healthcare and government training sectors.
