Israeli bulldozers raze lands near Bethlehem

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Israeli bulldozers early Sunday plowed over Palestinian-owned agricultural lands in the town of al-Khader, south of the West Bank city of Bethlehem.

Coordinator of the committee against the Apartheid Wall, Ahmad Salah, said in a statement that a number of Israeli soldiers, accompanied by personnel from the Israeli civil administration and a bulldozer, raided and razed some 3 dunums of Palestinian land, located between al-Khader town and Housan village.

"The Israeli bulldozer destroyed the wall surrounding the land and erected its gate", the statement added.

Salah explained that, last year, the Israeli authorities had declared this land as "State Land" for the purpose of expanding illegal settlements.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops on Sunday also arrested 4 Palestinians in Soreef and Ithna towns in the West Bank city of Hebron.

Israeli forces launch arrest campaigns on a daily basis against Palestinians in the cities and the villages of the West Bank.
