(MENAFN- QNA) Jordan and Japan held official talks in Amman today that were chaired by Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe.
The talks focused on bilateral ties and ways to further boost relations in various fields, as well as latest developments in the Middle East.
"We consider Japan an important strategic partner and one of the main supporters of Jordan through the financial and technical cooperation program that has a basic role in implementing developmental projects in Jordan," Ensour was quoted by the official Petra news agency as saying.
Further, Ensour said that the challenges facing the region, whether those related to the Palestinian issue or the crisis in Syria, require support from the international community for efforts that aim to fight terrorism and terrorist organizations.
The Japanese prime minister said: "We are committed to supporting the Kingdom to improve peace and stability in the region and we will continue to do so."
He stressed the importance of improving relations between Jordan and Japan.
