Iran's crude steel output up 6 percent in 9M
(MENAFN) Data showed that Iran produced 12.633 million tons of crude steel in the March 21-December 21 period, increasing 6 percent over a year earlier, Tehran Times reported.
Iran produced 11.906 million tons of crude steel in the nine-month period of the previous year, according to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization.
The country crude steel output hit 15.64 million tons in the previous Iranian calendar year, increasing 9 percent over the same period a year earlier, the IMIDRO data showed.
According to Iranian officials, the crude steel output is forecasted to increase to 55 million tons by the end of the Fifth Five-Year Development Plan, which started in 2010 and ends in 2015.
