Militants Killed in Afghan Security Operations
(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) More than 40 insurgents have been killed in Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) fresh operations across the country, Afghan Khaama Press (KP) reported.
General Mohammad Ayoub Salangi, acting minister of the interior ministry says 42 insurgent were killed only in Dangam district of eastern Kunar province.
In the meantime, a statement issued by the ministry on Sunday morning states that 27 rebels have been killed in fresh ANSF operations in Kunar, Kandahar and Ghazni province.
The statement does not clarify whether this death toll is part of the death toll provided by the acting minister or is separate.
However, the statement further adds that twelve other insurgents were arrested and three wounded in these operations conducted in past 24 hours.
The operations were jointly conducted by Afghan National Army, Afghan National Police and personnel from the National Directorate of Security, the statement adds.
